Guy Fawkes Night

Remember, remember the fifth of November, Gunpowder treason and plot. We see no reason. Why gunpowder treason. Should ever be forgot!

As most people light bonfires and set off fireworks tonight, there's one place in the UK that does not celebrate Guy Fawkes Night and that's his former school St. Peter’s in York. They refuse to burn a guy out of respect for one of their own.

Whether you're out celebrating tonight or staying indoors, here at Fozia HQ we strongly believe there's always time AND room for cake! Parkin cake, is the traditional cake eaten on Bonfire Night, but if you're not into gingerbread cake we have the answer!

Here's the easiest, simple recipe for our favourtie alternative... Gingerbread biscuits!

4oz Butter/Margarine

4oz Sugar

1 Egg Yolk

12oz Plain Flour

1tsp Bicarb of Soda

3tsp Ground Ginger

3 Tablespoons of Golden Syrup

~Mix all ingredients together and roll out and cut into shapes.

~Bake at 180 for approximately 10 minutes until golden.

That's it! They are soft initially but will be crunchy when cooled on a wire rack.

We would love to see your photographs from tonight, whether you're tucked up at home baking, or braving the cold outside, send your pics to but most importantly, don't forget to take extra care tonight and STAY SAFE!

Much love
